Glacier National Park, famous for its mountain goats and grizzly bears, holds a surprising number of Canada lynx and could prove to be a climate refuge for the cats, according to researchers.

The Bluffs Restaurant at Doughton Park, milepost 241 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, will reopen for the season on Friday, May 26, with a new team managing operations. Cal Ledbetter of The Bluffs Restaurant, LLC, will manage the restaurant.

The National Park Service, in cooperation with the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation, is accepting comments from the public on the site for the proposed National Global War on Terrorism Memorial. Three locations within the District of Columbia have been identified for consideration as a site for the memorial: Constitution Avenue and 23rd Street NW, Constitution Gardens, and along the Potomac River at Ohio Drive SW and West Basin Drive SW.

Prep work for rebuilding the miles-long pipeline that funnels water to the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park is scheduled to begin later this spring, though it will take about four years to complete the project.
