Construction On Dingmans Falls Trail At Delaware Water Gap NRA Will Lead To Closures

The final stage of rebuilding the Dingmans Falls boardwalk at Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in New Jersey and Pennsylvania kicks off next week, and that means there will be some closures on the popular quarter-mile trail that passes by Silverthread Falls on the way to Dingmans Falls.

Geology Festival Coming To Bryce Canyon National Park Next Weekend

Bryce Canyon National Park's centennial Geology Festival is scheduled for this coming Friday and Saturday and will include guided hikes, geology programs and interactive family-friendly booths. This year’s festival will also feature special evening programs from author and geologist Christa Sadler and park paleontology fellow Tut Tran exploring fossil discoveries within and around Bryce Canyon National Park.

Olympic National Park, Olympic National Forest Implementing Fire Restrictions

Due to the combination of increased dry conditions and rising temperatures, the Olympic National Forest and Olympic National Park in Washington state are implementing fire restrictions that will only allow campfires in established fire rings in designated areas. Restrictions take effect at midnight July 9.

Cedar Breaks Wildflower Festival Starts Friday

A weeklong celebration of high country wildflowers kicks off Friday at Cedar Breaks National Monument in Utah, where the Cedar Breaks Wildflower Festival highlights the many beautiful species of wildflowers (some found nowhere else in the world) that bloom each year in the park’s subalpine environment along the rim of the Cedar Breaks Amphitheater.

Road Through Lassen Volcanic National Park Now Open

The 30-mile highway through Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern California has opened for the summer season, though sections might seem like winter. A higher-than-average snowpack slowed operations, but through the hard work of National Park Service and Caltrans road crews, the road has been fully cleared. Visitors to the park should prepare for winter conditions at higher elevations, and possible delays due to ongoing road work.
