Drew Speedie, a 50-year-old software designer from Scottsdale, Arizona, must have had a lot of friends.
Since he and his 13-year-old son, Brent Speedie, died in a fall in Yellowstone National Park, numerous web surfers have found a story about their deaths on my blog by searching the Internet for "Speedie."
Today, four months after the two died in a fall from a bridge that spans the Gardner River just east of Mammoth Hot Springs, park investigators have no answer to the question of how they fell.
The father and son fell 200 feet into the river gorge on September 16th at about 9:30 a.m. They had gone to the bridge to take some pictures.
In a Billings Gazette story, park investigators say they don't think the Speedies were pushed off the bridge or hit by a car. But beyond that, they have little to go on. Speedie's camera, they say, contained pictures that appear "normal."
