Earlier this week I posted a story about more than 250 scientists who are opposed to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's plan to remove grizzly bears in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem from the protection of the Endangered Species Act.
Well, with every story there are at least two, and usually more, sides. According to The Associated Press, a group of scientists who belong to the Wildlife Society has joined the National Wildlife Federation in supporting the delisting proposal.
Tom France, director of NWF's Northern Rockies office, told the AP that the Wildlife Society voiced its support "to make sure that the public understands there is a debate within the scientific community."
"...many scientists and biologists are very much behind delisting because we really have achieved a success for bears in Yellowstone," he added.
