Comment Period on Big Cypress "Addition Lands" Nears End

Share

Published Date

June 14, 2007

There's little more than 24 hours left for you to comment on whether the "Addition Lands" at Big Cypress National Preserve should be protected as wilderness or opened up to off-road vehicles. The comment ends June 15th at midnight, local time.
This has been a prickly issue, as you can tell from some of the comments I received on my earlier post on the matter. As the saying goes, those who show up get to decide issues. And so if you favor adding more designated wilderness to the national park system, take a minute and comment on this issue.
You can either comment directly on the National Park Service web site, or use a form the Sierra Club has created here. You also can sign a petition Defenders of Wildlife is circulating.
