Great Smoky Trails Reopened

Share

Published Date

June 28, 2007

It took nearly a month, but all the trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park that were closed by the Buck Shank fire have been reopened.

While the fire was contained back on June 4, the trails that had been closed couldn't be reopened until downed trees and snags were cleared away.

Though the trails have been reopened, Backcountry Campsite No. 17 along the Little Bottoms Trail remains closed as crews haven't yet removed all the hazardous trees from that area.
