There are chick flicks, and now even chick national park retreats.

At Mesa Verde National Park girlfriends can land two nights in a "Kiva Room" at Far View Lodge, enjoy a "Wine Pairing" dinner for two one night in the Metate Room, have a full breakfast both mornings, and a private guided tour of the park, with a picnic lunch tossed in, all for $749, or 15 percent off the typical price for such a fling. You can arrange for a massage, but that's extra.

If you've always wanted to visit Yellowstone National Park, but were a bit intimidated by exactly how to tackle the park, you might want to consider Xanterra Parks & Resorts' “Total Yellowstone” summer adventure package.

The five-night package, which begins on Sunday nights June 8 – Aug. 24, 2008, is good for adults and children eight years and older. It features guided walks, a boat tour, horseback ride, bus tour and wildlife watching in the Lamar Valley. Sign on and you'll spend three nights at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge and two nights at the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. The package includes lodging; all breakfasts, lunches and dinners; tours; guides; a special gift per person and a memento photo CD. The price is $1,229 plus tax per person double occupancy and $619 for children under 12.

Xanterra also is working with the Yellowstone Association Institute on an "Essential Yellowstone" tour that is focused on early- and late-season visits to the park. This visits are intended to provide participants an opportunity to explore Yellowstone’s transition seasons of spring and fall with nightly accommodations and meals at Lake Hotel. Sign on and you'll view wildlife in the Hayden Valley, explore the rim of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River, and tour the heart of the Yellowstone volcano.

These four-day, five-night packages are offered starting May 18 and 25, June 1 and 8, and September 21 and 28. The program includes expert instruction by an Institute naturalist/guide, five nights of accommodations at Lake Hotel, breakfast and box lunch daily, dinner on the last night, in-park transportation and optional evening programs. The minimum age is 12, and the program is limited to 12 persons. Rates per person are $859 for double occupancy and $1,207 for single occupancy, plus tax.

Meanwhile, this year marks the 70th anniversary of Olympic National Park, and so the Kalaloch Lodge is offering room rates at a low $70. Available Sunday through Thursday, now through April 30, 2008—with blackout dates of March 23 and March 28 through April 12—this flat rate applies to all rooms except the Bluff Cabins and suites.

Perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Kalaloch Lodge offers spectacular panoramic views and seven unique and peaceful beaches. For more information or to book a room, call 1-866-525-2562 or visit this site and use the promotion code "ONP70."
