Every little bit helps, particularly in these challenging times. Just ask the folks at Friends of Big Bend, who just received an $8,000 grant to help pay for a new orientation film for Big Bend National Park.
The $8,000 check from the Permian Basin Area Foundation is the first donation towards the $150,000 goal the friends group has established for the film project.
“We are pleased to have this first gift in our campaign,” said Friends of Big Bend President Jack Lamkin. “Providing visitors with this important amenity will improve their park experience.”
The planned orientation film will discuss visitor safety, park resources and unique values, park challenges and visitor trip planning. The film will be used primarily at Panther Junction Visitor Center, which is the park’s main visitor center.
