If you're nimble and flexible there are some special lodging deals to be had in Sequoia and Olympic national parks and at Lake Powell National Recreation Area.

For instance, from now through May the folks at Wuksachi Lodge in Sequoia are offering some rooms for as little as $109 a night. Of course, there aren't many of those, so you really have to be quick with the phone or keyboard and able to travel now. The $109 rooms are being offered from April 19-30, and again May 3, 4 and 5, and again May 10-14 and May 21. First-come, first served.

There also are some $149 rooms being offered at Wuksachi, which is a great base-camp for exploring Sequoia. Those are being offered April 12-16 and May 26, 27 and 31. To check availability, either visit this site or call 866-826-9963, and mention the promotional code "SEQHRT."

At Olympic, in conjunction with volunteer events that involve cleaning up Kalaloch Beach in the park and the Kestner Homestead in the Quinault Rainforest, Lake Quinault Lodge and Kalaloch Lodge are offering the “Earth Day Working Vacation” deals for guests, available only online.

On the nights of April 17 and 18, the 'voluntourists' can stay in a Seacrest room for $99, or a cabin starting at $109. The rates include a one-night stay and boxed lunches for two. On April 24, guests can receive a one-night stay in a Lakeside or Main Lodge room at Lake Quinault Lodge and enjoy the barbecue for two for just $108. Additional nights can be added at just $89 a night.

As an added bonus, both lodges will give guests an additional $15 gift certificate if they arrive in style—seated in or on an "Earth Friendly Vehicle"—as part of the “Every Day is Earth Day” promotion. The gift certificate can be used in the lodges’ gift shop, store or restaurant.

Down at Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas, they're offering an "early bird" package on all Navigator, Adventurer and Discovery XL class houseboats. This deal allows you to get up to 50 percent off powerboat rentals and have first dibs on the inventory. The Early Bird package offers extra incentive with one more “book by” date: book by April 29 to receive up to 30 percent off. For more information or to book the package, visit this site or call (888) 486-4665.
