A sale on lodging in Yosemite National Park this fall means you can get half-off on your second night's lodging. The deals are being offered on rooms at Wawona Hotel and the elegant Ahwahnee Hotel and tent cabins in Curry Village.
A couple of caveats, however. Don't plan a fall trip to Yosemite if you're expecting to watch waterfalls cascading into the Yosemite Valley. While Nevada and Vernal falls do continue to plummet into the valley, Yosemite Fall usually is dry, due to the lack of snowmelt necessary to fuel the falls. Also, Curry Village can be a noisy place, due to the hundreds of wall tents that are clustered there.
All that said, you will enjoy fewer crowds than you'd encounter in mid-summer, the air is cooler, which makes for great hiking, and the landscape more colorful.
The fine print: At Wawona, the second-night deal is only on rooms without baths. If you reserve a room with a bath for three nights, you get 50 percent off the third night. At Curry Village, the offer only involves unheated tent cabins. At The Ahwahnee, the offer is good on "classic" rooms, which normally go for $400 per night. The deal is good September 7-October 29 at Wawona and Curry Village, and September 29-October 27 at The Ahwahnee.
The promo codes are "WHFall" for Wawona rooms, "CVFall" for Curry Village tents, and "AHFall" for The Ahwahnee. For more details, call (801) 559-4897 for visit this site: http://www.yosemitepark.com/Fall.aspx?ic_campID=4&ic_pkw=FallMultiOffer_...

Please I am looking for promo codes and discounts to the Ahwahnee Hotel for 2010 in september please.
I'm not aware of any involving the Ahwahnee, Anonymous, but if we hear of any we'll pass them on.
Thanks for the heads up on not planning to go there during the fall, Kurt! I never would have guessed that the waterfalls can actually dry up. My kids would really be disappointed if they don't get to see this when we go.
