Rangers were looking Tuesday for two 25-year-old men overdue from a backpacking trek in Grand Canyon National Park.
The search for Michael Wu and Isaac Rabicoff, both from Kansas, was centered in the South Bass and Royal Arch areas west of the Hermits Rest area on the park’s South Rim.
Park officials described Mr. Rabicoff as 6 feet tall, weighing between 140 pounds and 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He might also be wearing glasses, they said.
Mr. Wu was described as 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing between 120 pounds and 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He also might be wearing glasses, they said.
The two men were visiting the park together and obtained a backcountry permit to hike in the Royal Arch and South Bass areas beginning on March 16 and returning on March 20.
On March 22, 2010 a member of one of the men’s families reported the two men missing after they failed to return to Kansas as planned.
If you believe you have seen either Isaac Rabicoff or Michael Wu since March 15 or have information regarding their whereabouts, you are asked to contact the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center at 928-638-7805.
