National Park Service Launches Website To Help With Your Vacation Planning

Share

Published Date

May 21, 2010

A just-launched website will help you plan your vacation to one or more of the 392 units of the National Park System this summer. Produced by the National Park Service, the site is intended to help you develop and itinerary and research the landscape before you leave home.

The 2010 Summer Adventure planning site, which you can find here, has links that will help you find lodging, field schools, special events and more across the park system. There are quick links to such things as historic lighthouses to visit, national recreational trails, and archaeology tours, as well as lists of special events, such as "Ranching Weekends."

There's also an interactive calendar that makes it easy to search for special events by state or by park. Visitors will also find information about educational programs in the national parks and an array of travel guides.
