Vice President Biden Heading to Yellowstone, Grand Canyon National Parks

While President Obama headed to Acadia National Park last weekend for a three-day vacation, Vice President Biden is heading to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Canyon National Park to check up on American Recovery and Reinvestment Act projects.

The National Park Service has been catching up on deferred construction and maintenance with Recovery Act funds.

More than 1,000 workers have already been part of the 17 Recovery Act projects at
Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon, according to a park release. Overall, there are 800 Recovery Act projects under way at national parks across the country this summer – eight
times as many as there were last summer, the release added.

On Monday, Vice President Biden will be in Yellowstone to deliver remarks to workers outside the Madison Junior Ranger Station. He will be joined by Park Service Director Jon Jarvis.

On Tuesday, the vice president will deliver remarks at Hopi Point on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
