Not even Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve is too far off the beaten path not to have a film festival. Come April 23, the park will show the Far North Conservation Film Festival, which celebrates films about the "conservation and sustainability of wildlife, wild places, and cultures from around the world."
The Far North Conservation Film Festival began in 2003 in celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week. After growing and developing, the festival is in its 7th year of "celebrating the
diversity and sustainability of wildlife, wild places, and cultures around the world and in the far north!"
The festival is seen as a place for filmmakers, local people, and local businesses to support media that matters in promoting global conservation. The festival will be shown April 23rd from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Visitor Center and Bookstore will be open from 11:30 to 5:15 PM
Admission is free. Movie snacks will be provided. For more information please contact Erica Edmonds at 822-7225.
