Friends of Acadia Holding Auction To Help Acadia National Park

The Friends of Acadia is celebrating its 25th anniversary this Saturday with a dinner and auction to help it continue to work on behalf of Acadia National Park. And you don't even need to attend in person to vie for such items as Maine-made artworks or tickets to the lighting of the National Christmas Tree at the White House come December.

Of course, it'd be great to attend the non-profit organization's annual benefit, which is being held at the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor beginning at 6 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction. But if you can't, you can bid on the auction items on-line.

The Benefit Auction is a unique and powerful means for you to directly support Acadia National Park through Friends of Acadia, and have fun doing so. The unrestricted funds raised each year at the auction help FOA manage and make grants to key programs like:

• Volunteer stewardship of Acadia’s trails
• Wild Gardens of Acadia
• Carriage road repair and upkeep
• Youth internships in the park
• Grassroots advocacy for the park

Your support tonight will help ensure that Friends of Acadia preserves and protects the magnificence of Acadia now and for future generations.

   
So, what auction items might catch your eye? Here's a partial list:

* Picnic on the Water in Style – Hinckley 44' Mark II
