Winter Film Festival Slated For Women's Rights National Historical Park in New York

There's more to Women's Rights National Historical Park than meets the eye. For instance, visit the park this winter and you'll be able to learn something about Mount Rainier National Park, or August Saint-Gaudens, or even Rosie the Riveter.

Beginning November 4 and 5 and then running every Friday and Saturday through next April the historical park will offer films that highlight some of America's national parks, as well as films on topics in women's and African-American history.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our national treasures," says Superintendent Tammy Duchesne.

Women's Rights National Historical Park exists to commemorate and preserve the events of the First Women's Rights Convention that was held in 1848. It is one of nearly 400 sites in America's National Park Service system. "We are proud to be part of such a significant heritage, and we invite everyone to join us in celebrating our shared history and culture through film," says the superintendent.

All festival films begin at noon in the Guntzel Theater, located at the Women's Rights National Historical Park Visitor Center at 136 Fall Street in downtown Seneca Falls, New York. Because film lengths vary, visitors are encouraged to call if they are interested in a particular showing.
