A Year in the Life ... of Lassen Volcanic National Park

Share

Published Date

December 4, 2011

Have you ever spent a year in one national park? You can, virtually, by watching this short video from Lassen Volcanic National Park.

This short film was made via the park's Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center webcam, which captures an image of the park every 10 minutes. "Using three images from each day of the year, this time lapse provides a unique perspective of the park's seasonal cycles," park officials note. "This year's time lapse captures an unusual March snow storm that buried the 15 foot high webcam."

The video starts in November 2010 and runs through November 2011. Enjoy.

Neat!

I wish someone would do something like this with the Old Faithful webcam.  This is cool.
