Watching Grizzlies In The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem

Treat yourself to this 12-minute video celebrating grizzlies in Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. Photo by Daryl L. Hunter.

Wildlife fascinate most folks to some degree, and grizzlies seem to take that to an even higher level. But we definitely prefer to watch these animals from a distance.

Photographer and videographer Daryl L. Hunter lets you do that from the comfort of your home in the following video.

In the video, which was filmed in Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks, we're treated to a glimpse into the life of grizzlies.

There are loping grizzlies, grizzlies with cubs, grizzlies seemingly enjoying a little rest while watching the world about them, and grizzlies that don't quite seem to know what to do when confronted by a rather large herd of elk.

There are cameos, as well -- some moose show up, as well as some wolves, if you watch carefully -- but this is primarily about the big bruins that call Grand Teton and Yellowstone home.

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video. Every morning the first thing I do is check on the wolf issue. I have two hybrids, two wolfs, and six horses. Nature keeps me sane. The ending was the best when momma layed back to feed her cubs. Again thank you for sharing. I really loved it. I'm looking forward to seeing more..God Bless

I always enjoy Daryl's photos and videos. (We just linked to this NPT page on our home page at http://www.yellowstonegate.com). Some of these bears even have their own Twitter accounts, so I think the term "celebrity bear" wouldn't be out of line. Don't worry, Daryl, if the bears are celebrities, you're a photojournalist/documentarian, not a paparazzi!

Man, what a great piece.

Glad you enjoyed it Justin.
