A chief operating officer has been hired by the National Park Foundation to provide strategic oversight and management of the non-profit organization chartered by Congress to raise charitable dollars for the National Park System.
Patricia Nicklin comes to the job, which also includes the title of executive vice president, from Share Our Strength, an international non-profit organization focused on ending childhood hunger. Her last position there was chief operating officer and executive vice president.
“Patricia brings an outstanding track record of strategic fundraising and diverse management experience to this important role," said the park foundation's president and chief executive officer, Neil Mulholland. “Her exemplary non-profit background and leadership will be a powerful addition to the Foundation as we build upon our success and engage new audiences in support of America’s national parks.”
Ms. Nicklin received an MBA from Darden School at the University of Virginia, where she also attended as an undergraduate.
“I am excited to join the National Park Foundation and support America’s great national park system,” she said. “As we approach the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016, I look forward to engaging more Americans in supporting and enriching our national treasures.”
