With the nation currently marking the sesquicentennial of the Civil War, a series of commemorative coins has been minted to track the conflict. And now there's a booklet where you can hold those coins.

The nation was wrought with conflict 150 years ago, while the Union and Confederacy fought epic battles during the American Civil War. More than 600,000 men lost their lives in a struggle that ultimately destroyed the institution of slavery and restored the United States into one nation.

Since 2011, the sesquicentennial of the Civil War continues to be commemorated at national parks and battlefields throughout the nation. A series of collector coins has been created to commemorate the Civil War. These metal coins measure 1” by 5/8” in diameter, and feature colorful scenes which depict the major battles of the Civil War, from Fort Sumter to Appomattox Court House.

There are 29 coins in total, and the booklet lists the dates of each battle. Printed in the U.S.A, the Civil War 150th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Collection Booklet is available now from Eastern National on this website for $9.95.

“The American Civil War was one of the most defining moments for our nation. The sacrifices made by those who died and the lasting results of the war continue to resonate through the minds of Americans,” said Kevin Kissling, Eastern National's chief operating officer. “These coins and their respective Commemorative Booklet pay tribute to those who lost their lives and are a monument to the progress of our nation as a whole.”
