Ozark National Scenic Riverways officials have instituted fire restrictions for their park, prohibiting all open fires, including campfires. Fires in campstoves and in grills with lids will continue to be permitted for the time being.
The use of fireworks continues to be prohibited in the park, as well.
The fire ban is an effort to prevent wildfires and will be in effect until further notice. Numerous counties and communities near the scenic riverway in Missouri have also issued fire bans, as well as agencies such the U.S. Forest Service, Missouri Department of Conservation, and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
For more information, phone (573) 323-4236 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 pm or visit the park’s website.
