If you have some time on your hands, a hankering for natural sciences, and always wanted to visit Yellowstone National Park in winter, here's your chance.
The Yellowstone Association Institute still has some space available in some of its winter programs. The offering is quite diverse, ranging from photographing the winter sun and stars and learning about Yellowstone's coyotes, wolves and foxes to a "yoga and ski weekend."
These in-depth programs offer a close look at various aspects of the Yellowstone ecosystem. In small group settings you'll see the park through the eyes of an animal tracker, a wolf biologist, a photographer, and other noted experts.
Most field seminars are based at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch, in the heart of the wildlife-rich Lamar Valley. Some programs offer catered meals. Cozy cabins and a heated bathhouse serve as your home in this remote wilderness. In the winter, linen rental and private cabins are available. Members will receive a $10 discount on tuition for Institute courses.
