If winter really is on the run, additional lodging will be available for visitors to Denali National Park and Preserve on May 31.
Denali National Park’s Kantishna Road House, Denali River Cabins and Cedars Lodge Hotel and Kantishna Wilderness Trails are readying accommodations, facilities, and private tour buses to welcome guests for the 2013 summer season.
The Denali River Cabins & Cedars Lodge Hotel opens for business on May 31. Located six miles from the Denali National Park entrance on George Parks Highway, the fully furnished cedar log cabins and hotel rooms offer a jumping off point to enjoy the splendor of the park.
After a day of activities, visitors can unwind with a meal or beverage at the Denali Roadhouse or soak in the heat of the Finnish Sauna. Free transportation to the Denali River Cabins & Cedars Lodge Hotel is available to and from the Denali Railroad Depot.
A 2013 Summer Season Special gives visitors who book two or more seats on Kantishna Wilderness Trails private park tours a discount. Guests will receive a 10 percent off on regular cabin rates and 20 percent off hotel rooms at the Denali River Cabins & Cedars Lodge Hotel.
Kantishna Wilderness Trails private buses travel the length of Park Road into the heart of Denali National Park with knowledgeable guides who share the biology, geology and history of the region. The trip provides an excellent way to view the park’s vast wildlife, as well as Mt. McKinley and Wonder Lake. The day-long trip includes a two-hour lunch stop at the Kantishna Roadhouse.
For those who want the unique experience of vacationing deep within the park, the Kantishna Roadhouse offers cozy cabin accommodations, dining facilities, a full-service saloon, spa services and a wide array of wilderness activities.
