One of the iconic scenes at Grand Teton National Park is that of the TA Moulton Barn on Mormom Row. That barn turns 100 next month, and there will be a celebration to both recognize the history of the barn and to raise money to help preserve it.

The celebration will be preceded by a public art display in early July at the Jackson Hole Historical Society Museum. This display will move to the Craig Thomas Discovery Visitor Center in Moose on July 20 where it will remain until August 3. Artists will be able to display their works of art of the barn in all forms from paintings, photos, quilts etc.

Beginning July 15 there will be a week-long restoration effort at the barn where volunteers will donate their time and labor on the most critical stabilization needs. Harrison Goodall, an architectural conservationist, will be there to lead the effort. He has agreed to conduct a complete structural assessment on the complete preservation needs.

The public event will be July 20 on Mormon Row and will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Events will include the reading of a proclamation from Wyoming Governor Matt Mead and remarks by Grand Teton Superintendent Mary Gibson Scott.

An oral history and walking tours of the Mormon Row Historic District will be provided by the Jackson Hole Historic Society. There also will be historical displays by the Society and the Moulton family.
