The culmination of National Park Week brings you an opportunity to tour the gardens on the south grounds of the White House, a unit of the National Park System known as President's Park, this coming weekend.
The tours will be offered from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Visitors will see the South Lawn, Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, Rose Garden, and the White House Kitchen Garden.
This event is free and open to the public; however, a free ticket is required for all attendees (including small children). The National Park Service will distribute free, timed tickets at the Ellipse Visitor Pavilion located at 15th and E Streets NW on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. Tickets will be distributed--one ticket per person--on a first-come, first-served basis.
The following items are not allowed on the White House grounds:
* Aerosols of any kind
* Animals (except service dogs)
* Any pointed objects
* Backpacks (oversized)
* Balloons
* Beverages of any kind
* Duffle bags/suitcases
* Electric stun guns
* Fireworks/firecrackers
* Food of any kind
* Guns/ammunition
* Insulated metal containers (water bottles/coffee cups)
* Knives of any kind
* Mace
* Tobacco
* Any pointed objects
The U.S. Secret Service reserves the right to prohibit any other personal items. However, strollers, wheelchairs, umbrellas (no metal tips), and cameras are permitted.
