Lodging inside Bryce Canyon National Park will be available this year/Kurt Repanshek
Enjoying the snow, red-rock, and starry skies over Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah will be a bit easier this winter, as part of the Bryce Canyon Lodge will for the first time in its history remain open for guests.
While the main lodge won't be fully operational through the winter, rooms will be available at the adjoining 35-room Sunset Hotel from November 8 through March 24. Meals also will be limited, with the lodge providing light continental breakfasts. More substantial fare can be found just outside the park entrance at Ruby's Inn or down in nearby Tropic.
This winter pilot program coincides with the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary commemoration and will allow guests the chance to discover the magic and majesty of winter at Bryce Canyon. In addition to offering its extraordinary landscape features and giant, natural amphitheater, the park is one of the units of the National Park System to have been designated an International Dark Sky Park—so winter stargazing should be amazing.
All rooms are priced at $120/night for double occupancy with a $10 charge for each additional guest. Rollaway beds and cribs are available (a $12 charge for rollaways applies).
