A trail for mountain bikers is now open in Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio/NPS
A short trail for mountain bikers anxious to cruise through Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio is now open, and crews are expected to continue to expand it later this year.
On Thursday park officials and those from the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park will host an open house to celebrate and learn more about the park's first mountain biking trail. Guests will hear from the trail design team and get their questions answered about this new park project.
Design work on the East Rim Trail, which is also open to hikers, began in 2014, with construction beginning on the first 2.5-mile section of the project completed earlier this summer. An additional 6.5 miles of trail are to be added.
This Thursday's open house will be from 6 pm. to 8 p.m. at the Happy Days Lodge in the park. You can learn more about the trail, and receive updates on construction of additional miles, by visiting this site.
