Published Date

February 10, 2016

On February 20, weather permitting, there will be a moonlight snowshoe hike at the Morefield Campground at Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado.

The Morefield Campground winter trails will be open from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. This event is free and open to all ages.

You're invited to bring your skis or snowshoes and enjoy the trails by moonlight. Also, once the sun goes down it gets cold quickly, so be sure to dress for the cold, bring appropriate outdoor gear, and a headlamp or flashlight. Snowshoes will be available to checkout. Participants are welcome to bring their own hot drinks, but please note, refreshments and a campfire will not be provided.

Morefield Campground is located 4 miles past the park entrance, on the right-hand side. This event is subject to cancellation due to bad weather.
