A visit to Balcony House at Mesa Verde National Park is fun any time of day, but this weekend the park is offering a special sunrise tour of the cliff dwelling.

Tickets for this tour are only available at www.recreation.gov. The tour will last about 90 minutes and is limited to 25 people. Cost is $15 per person. Meeting time, location, and additional details are available on Recreation.gov.

To do this tour, you must be able to climb a 32-foot ladder; crawl through an 18-inch wide, 12-foot long tunnel; and climb up a 60-foot open cliff face with stone steps and two 10-foot ladders to the exit.

Dress warmly and bring a flashlight. Cameras are welcome, but you must be able to carry all of your gear while keeping your hands free to climb the ladders.

Additional tours will be offered June 20, June 21, September 21, September 22, and October 10.

Don’t miss this chance to begin your day as the Ancestral Pueblo inhabitants once did. Climb into Balcony House as the sun rises and step into the 21st Century of our national parks.
