Rockfall Closes Wall Street Trail At Bryce Canyon National Park

This rockfall early Saturday forced the closure of the Wall Street section of the Navajo Loop Trail at Bryce Canyon National Park/NPS

A rockfall has closed the Wall Street section of the Navajo Loop at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, according to park officials.

A park release Saturday said that "thousands of pounds of limestone fell to the canyon floor" sometime earlier Saturday morning. The rockfall "partially covered the trail through the canyon," the release said.

“The risk of additional rockfall events triggered by this massive rock dislodging is still a major concern,” said Chief Ranger Wesley Baker.

Because of this rockfall, the southern side of the Navajo Loop trail will remain closed until the risk of additional rockfall incidents are reduced. The Two Bridges side of the Navajo Loop and the Queen’s Garden trail remain open.
