The wonders, and the mysteries, of the National Park System are amazing. That's obvious if you've explored one of caves in the system, combed the beaches of one of the national seashores for shells, or backpacked through the wilderness.
There are countless stories flowing out of the parks --news about the threat two non-native fungi pose to the ʻŌhiʻa trees at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, the ongoing stories of wildfires in the parks, and even Dr. Alfred Runte's essay about rail travel to the national parks and how it soon could be a thing of the past -- that merit attention.
Our job at the Traveler is, essentially, to uncover news and features about the parks to help you better understand and appreciate the wonders of the park system and the threats that rise up against it.
Help us broaden our coverage of the park system and keep you informed on the parks with a donation. It can be less than the cost of a mocha, latte, or six-pack, it can be made on a monthly basis, and it can be tax deductible, if you deduct charitable donations.
But, more importantly, not only will you benefit personally from our coverage of the parks every day of the year, but you'll help someone else benefit from that coverage, as well. And that's a good thing.
