Have you tuned in to National Parks Traveler's weekly podcasts? These audio magazines run the gamut of news and features in national parks and protected areas, as our latest show with the filmmakers behind The Elephant Queen demonstrates.
Running 40-45 minutes per episode, these shows aim to inform listeners with news and features from parks and protected areas. Past episodes have featured Jacob W. Frank, the staff photographer at Yellowstone National Park, Ken Brower, son of the late David Brower, with his take on whether ranching should be allowed at Point Reyes National Seashore, and Western Carolina University's Professor Rob Young and his thoughts on what Hurriane Dorian did to Cape Lookout National Seashore.
We've also brought you interviews with artists who draw inspiration from national parks, examined the debate over eBikes in parks, and talked about the history of Capitol Reef National Park with the editor who compiled a wonderful anthology of writings tied to the park. And we also had an expert discuss whether a gun is the best choice for defending yourself from a bear.
Though politics at times surface in these shows, it's an unfortunate reality that politics at times do impact the parks, and park lovers should be aware of them.
