Help Cover The Impact Coronavirus Is Having On The National Park System

If you're out in the National Park System as a park or concessions employee, a volunteer, or a traveler, help us provide coverage of the impacts coronavirus is having on the parks.

With 419 units in the park system, it's impossible for Traveler to be everywhere, and with most, if not all, park communications having to be vetted by Interior Department officials, it's proving impossible to get answers to all the questions that arise.

That's where you can help.

If you have insights, answers, or input to the following questions, or photos of current conditions in the parks, either add them in comments to this post, or reach us privately and confidentially via [email protected]

* Are federal guidelines that gatherings be limited to 10 people being followed?

* Are custodial crews able to sufficiently keep restrooms clean?

* Is overall sanitation in the parks good?

* If campgrounds are open, are they crowded, or sparsely filled?

* Do parks have sufficient staffing to safely manage visitation and ensure resources are protected?

* Is park staffing being reduced by sickness?

* How are concessionaires managing the situation in terms of cleanliness and food service?

* If you work in a park where concessions have shut down, are you being laid off or kept on?

* If you're normally a seasonal employee, are you planning to return to the park system for the summer season?

Please keep your comments constructive and informative, not malicious.
