It's going to be somewhat difficult to get around the Stehekin area of North Cascades National Park following the decision to discontinue transportation services there this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic.
You can't drive to Stehekin. It requires a sea plane, ferry, or long hike to reach. During normal times, once you got there you could board the red buses for the Rainbow Falls Tour or to use as a hiker shuttle.
But now the North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin, in consultation with the National Park Service, has decided to suspend transportation services due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Visitors can still enjoy the area by walking or finding alternate transportation up the Stehekin Valley Road.
Overnight lodging and take-out food service, limited retail, and fuel at the marina also continue to be available for all park visitors.
