Recovery of a man who fell from a cliff at Glen Canyon National Recreation has led to discovery of additional human remains/NPS file

Word that someone had fallen from a cliff overlooking the Colorado River at the Glen Canyon Dam Overlook in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area led to discovery of additional human remains at the base of the dam.

Around 9 a.m. Sunday the park's dispatch center received word that someone had fallen from the cliff near the overlook, which is located on Scenic View Drive near Page, Arizona.

"Witnesses reported the victim was on top of the rim overlooking the Colorado River taking pictures when he fell approximately 100 feet and then slid approximately 150 feet further," read a release from the NRA. "The victim suffered severe trauma and showed no signs of life after the fall. A Coconino County Sheriff’s Office deputy rappelled to the victim at 9:27 a.m and confirmed the victim was deceased. The victim has been identified as 25-year old Orlando Serrano-Arzola of Phoenix, Arizona."

Shortly after the park sent that release out, it followed with another stating that officers from the park and the sheriff's office had also discovered bones at the base of the dam "that have been determined to be human remains."
