In the coming weeks, at National Parks Traveler we'll be releasing our 2nd Annual Threatened and Endangered Parks package of stories.
Look out across the National Park System and there are concerns about oil exploration affecting places such as Big Cypress National Preserve in Florida and Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico, the damage the border wall has inflicted on Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and Coronado National Memorial in Arizona, aircraft noise impacting the country's "quietest one inch" in Olympic National Park and Badlands National Park, and growing issues with climate change that are impacting park resources.
No other news organization keeps such close track of conditions in the National Park System. For 15 years, that's been a key role for the Traveler.
Soon after that package is published, we'll be increasing our coverage of national parks and protected areas in Canada, with stories that feature that country's great parks, as well as monitoring how they are managed and what impacts they face.
Such editorial work would not be possible without the support of our readers and listeners. As we close out our year-end campaign to secure funding for the coming year, we hope that you'll add your name to the nearly 1,000 readers and listeners who have made a donation to ensure this important work continues.
