Tropical Storm Elsa was expected to affect both Dry Tortugas and Everglades national parks/NOAA
Tropical Storm Elsa was tracking towards Dry Tortugas National Park off the southern tip of Florida, but was not expected to greatly impact the park.
The storm, which was over Cuba on Monday, was expected to reach the national park late Monday or Tuesday and drop 2-4 inches of rain.
"The park is monitoring Tropical Storm Elsa. While still open, visitor and emergency services are limited," the park's website said. "Check weather and check park website before coming. Ferry and seaplane tours have been cancelled for 7/5 and 7/6. Contact them directly for questions."
The southern tip of Everglades National Park also was expected to be impacted by the storm. While Flamingo remained open, the marina was closed and no services were available, the park said.
As the storm swings to the northeast, it was expected to bring 2-4 inches of rain to Georgia and the Carolinas.
