National parks, from Great Smoky Mountains National Park to Haleakalā National Park, are well-represented on an upcoming release of U.S. postage stamps.
The release of the stamps will be celebrated at Yellowstone National Park with a public event on June 13 at Canyon Village. Mike Elston, U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors secretary, will serve as the dedicating official at the event, which also will be attended by Yellowstone Superintendent Cam Sholly.
The Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River is among the 12 waterfalls featured on the stamps. Other waterfalls, and their placement on the first-day issue are:
