Parks Canada offers learn-to-camp weekends at various spots including La Mauricie National Park in Quebec/A For Adventure, Parks Canada
Parks Canada is inviting people to learn — or re-learn — to camp.
For the 12th year, it's running its learn-to-camp program to help people experience camping in tents, canoeing and the great outdoors. The program is offered at select national parks and national historic sites from June to September. In collaboration with MEC, a Canadian outdoor gear retailer, and other community partners, Parks Canada provides the tent, foam sleeping pads and campstove for family-friendly weekend events.
In Ontario, the Rideau Canal National Historic Site will host overnight sessions at Long Island Lock Station (July 8-9 and July 22-23) and Newboro Lock Station (Aug. 19-20).
In Québec, the sessions will take place at five sites, including:
• Lévis Forts National Historic Site (June 18-19).
• Coteau-du-Lac National Historic Site (July 15-16).
• Lachine Canal National Historic Site (July 8-9, July 22-23, July 29-30, Aug. 12-13, Aug. 19-20).
• Cartier-Brébeuf National Historic Site (July 8-9).
• La Mauricie National Park (July 22-23 and Aug. 12-13).
There are camping weekends in other provinces as well, but these are geared to groups like newcomer/new Canadian organizations.
Daily learn-to workshops at various parks and sites also teach outdoor skills.

Children aged six and younger are free.
