A ban on fires is coming to Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area/NPS file, Chelsea Brauner

Extreme fire conditions are leading to a ban on all fires at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area in Washington state.

Beginning Friday, and until further notice, all fires in National Park Service-provided fire rings and boxes along with any shoreline fires, charcoal fires, tiki torches, incense burners, candles, pellet smokers, and propane campfires are banned.

Only self-contained propane or gas stoves and lanterns are allowed during the full fire ban.
