High water temperatures have prompted Gros Morne National Park to close several rivers and brooks, including all tributaries and connected ponds, to fishing.
They include:
• Lomond River from the park boundary to high tide marks at Bonne Bay (the section within Gros Morne.
• East Branch Lomond River.
• Deer Arm Brook (Eastern Arm Brook) from Deer Arm Pond (Eastern Arm Pond) to the high tide marks at Bonne Bay.
The closure began July 20 and will be reversed if environmental conditions improve in the western Newfoundland park.
