You Never Know When You'll Run Into A Traveler Correspondent

Traveler Contributing Editor Rebecca Latson captured a shooting star at Mount Rainier National Park this past weekend/Rebecca Latson

You never know when you might run into a correspondent for the National Parks Traveler.

Contributing Photographer Rebecca Latson spent time this past weekend in Mount Rainier National Park chasing shooting stars with her cameras (photo above).

Jennifer Bain, our Canadian correspondent, visited the Nunavat region of the Arctic recently for a story proposed Tallurutiup Imanga National Marine Conservation Area that hit the Traveler website today.

While many of our stories are tracked from a desk — such as our recent piece on the state of Utah failing in its bid to overturn the boundaries of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments and on on the National Park Service's options for managing bison in Yellowstone — we often turn to writers across the country to keep you informed on parks themselves and issues that swirl around them.

Lori Sonken, for instance, recently traveled to Pinnacles National Park in California to search for California condors, while Kim Kobersmith visited Camp Nelson National Monument in Kentucky to dive into the Civil War history interpreted by that monument.

You can spot Traveler Editor Kurt Repanshek when he hits the road in his Subaru Outback.

Providing daily coverage of national parks and protected areas requires our writers to work from both the road and from their desks. It also requires your support. We hope you'll take a minute to support our efforts with a tax-deductible donation to National Parks Traveler. Click on the link below to make a donation or find the address for mailing a check.

Thanks in advance!
