Support Essential Coverage of Essential Places

Buy a grande latte with vanilla oat milk and it's gone in 30 minutes. Support the National Parks Traveler, and you stay informed on volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, campground fee increases, wildfires, gorgeous destinations and so much more, every day of the year.

No other news organization regularly provides ongoing and in-depth coverage on such diverse national park topics as feral horses and whether they should be kept in the parks, wolf research at Voyageurs National Park, the wonders of sea kayaking at Acadia National Park, and how climate change is impacting the parks?

Our work fills critical gaps created by news outlets that no longer have the capacity to cover the parks as they should be covered. But we can’t do this critical reporting without your help. The National Parks Traveler is a nonprofit news site; every investigation we undertake and every story we write is funded by dedicated readers like you.

The Traveler's content reaches roughly 2 million readers and listeners a year, but only a fraction — less than 1 percent — support our work with a donation. Sadly, that 1 percent is no typo.

Through October 6, help us change that by contributing to the only news organization focused entirely on national parks and protected areas. By signing up as a monthly supporter at $25 or more a month, your donation helps keep you informed on grizzly bear recovery efforts in the North Cascades National Park Complex, the erosion of beachs (and collapsing of houses) at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, the history behind the landscape protected at Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, and how the National Park Service is working to protect cultural resources from climate-change impacts.

Help ensure that this important work continues with a tax-deductible donation to the National Parks Traveler today. And then please forward this story to a friend who also is passionate about the parks and who would appreciate the Traveler's work and encourage them to match your support.

We’re so grateful for your support.
