We have a goal to raise at least $15,000 by year's end from readers like you to sustain our work and expand our impact; in short, to ensure we can keep you informed on national parks and protected areas.

You can help us take a big leap towards that goal by helping us match a $5,000 grant from the National Parks Conservation Association.

The National Parks Traveler exists for one reason: To ensure that everyone interested in the national parks has access to the information they need to make informed decisions as stewards, users, and even critics of the National Park Service.

The Traveler works to introduce new and diverse audiences to these public lands, serves as a watchdog over National Park Service and Congressional actions that apply to the National Park System, and provides coverage that ensures the National Park System is maintained under the original qualities and aspirations that led to each unit being added to the system.
