A cyclist was seriously injured Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run accident inside Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. Park authorities are investigating and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
The crash happened around 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, at the intersection of Highway 11 and the road leading to Namakanipaio Campground.
Witnesses reported the vehicle as a gold-colored sedan. The cyclist, a 70-year-old man from Volcano, sustained severe injuries.
