Munising Falls Trail At Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Closed Until Further Notice

Heavy rains supplemented by snowmelt washed out a section of the Munising Falls Trail at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore/NPS

Heavy rains and seasonal snowmelt have washed out portions of the Munising Falls Trail at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan.

Until the 75 feet of trail can be repaired, the trail will remain closed, a park release said Tuesday. The section of trail was washed out on Monday, leaving no safe access point to view Munising Falls.

Travel in the Munising Falls area is strictly prohibited to protect both visitor safety and sensitive natural resources, the release said.
