Just three months into the year, more than one million of you have read the National Parks Traveler's content, either on our website or on our Apple News feed — a roughly 450 percent increase over last year.
As more and more people seek critical information on the federal government’s efforts to dismantle the infrastructure supporting our national parks and public lands, the Traveler has been working night and day to keep you up to speed on the most important developments. We broke the story about park superintendents being told to staff their parks as best they can, covered a late-night Senate vote that saw 51 Senators vote against an amendment that would have blocked the sale of public lands to reduce the federal deficit.
We reported that the NPS has opened another window for employees to resign, a move that experts called “reckless.” And we reported that the Interior Secretary has ordered that national parks must be open and accessible — an order that the National Parks Conservation Association said would lead to the parks being "micromanaged by political appointees."
We’re also monitoring the situation on the ground at as many national parks as possible, making sure that you know what’s going on in your national parks.
We’re thrilled by the impact that our work is having — but all of this critical reporting would be impossible without your help. Please, make your tax-deductible gift to the National Parks Traveler today, and help us ensure that, in these turbulent times, we can continue to shine a light on the federal policies impacting our public spaces.
We’re so grateful for your support,
