Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado started to slowly reopen to the public on Wednesday, with staff monitoring visitors' behavior to determine which areas remain open and how many people will be allowed in the park.

Visitors to Yellowstone National Park this week have not fully embraced social distancing practices, but overall Superindendent Cam Sholly is pleased with how the reopening has gone so far.

It was not the best day for a walk in the park, but Second Lady Karen Pence nonetheless appeared at Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Tuesday amid showers and fog to discuss the benefits of fresh air for physical and mental health.

In the early days of the COVID-19 lockdowns, social media was flooded with reports of animals reclaiming abandoned environments. According to one widely shared post, dolphins had returned to the canals of Venice. While many of those stories have since been debunked, conservationists are providing legitimate reports of cleaner air and water, and wildlife reclaiming contested habitats.
