Olympic Fire Crews Continue Searching For Potential Wildfires After Recent Lightning Strikes

Interagency fire crews continued suppressing fire starts and investigating smoke reports across Olympic National Park and Olympic National Forest today. Crews are working to suppress two active fires on the Olympic National Forest caused by the lightning strikes. So far, no structures are threatened and there are no new evacuations or closures.

NPS Seeking Public Input On Grazing Management Plan & EA For Black Canyon Of The Gunnison And Curecanti

The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking public input regarding development of a Grazing Management Plan and Environmental Assessment (EA) for Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and Curecanti National Recreation Area, under the National Environmental Policy Act.  

Mount Rainier Seeking Public Input On Timed-Entry Reservation Pilot Program

In an effort aimed at reducing congestion, crowding, destruction of fragile areas, and ease strain on infrastructure and resources, Mount Rainier National Park initiated a timed-entry pilot program lasting through September 2, 2024. The park is now seeking public input on the success (or failure) of this program.
