More than $1 million has been raised in donations for recovery efforts at Yellowstone National Park through the park's philanthropic partner, Yellowstone Forever.

As Saturday dawned over Death Valley National Park the impacts of flooding the day before could be seen in most directions: extensive debris flows of mud and gravel, undercut roads with asphalt damage, broken water lines. Overhead, aircraft searched for any stranded vehicles in remote areas of the 3.4-million-acre park, while down below law enforcement provided escorts for visitors who were leaving the park.

Heavy rainstorms Friday that dumped nearly a year's worth of precipitation on Death Valley National Park sent floodwaters across the park, damaging dozens of cars, closing roads with rubble, and trapping roughly 1,000 visitors and staff inside the park. No injuries were reported.

After being closed to the public for nearly a month due to a wildfire, the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias in Yosemite National Park is once again open to the public.
